Job title: Orthotist
Location: Exeter
We have an exciting opportunity for an orthotist to join our team in Exeter.
**Job role summary**:
The Exeter Mobility Centre is a large, modern centre offering prosthetic, orthotic and wheelchair care based within the Marsh Barton industrial estate. The orthotic service delivers to a variety of hospitals, and specialist schools in Devon. This role provides an opportunity to work in a well-established team and develop your clinical practice across a range of settings including paediatrics, spinal, specialist diabetic clinics and more. With a large, onsite prosthetic and orthotic workshop there is scope for innovation and collaboration directly with the skilled technicians carrying out much of the manufacturing/repair work.
The role holder will assess patients in a variety of different clinics, occasionally in conjunction with physiotherapists and other members of the interdisciplinary team as appropriate. They will then prescribe and provide orthotic treatment based on best practice.
Working as part of a large team, the role holder will work collaboratively and proactively, to develop the service and any less experienced colleagues such as students and graduates. The role holder will help to advance the delivery of the Opcare orthotic service by embracing evidence-based medicine and the result of clinical audit in line with the requirements of clinical governance.
