- **The Role**_
- As a _**Manufacturing Operative**_ _at Clayton Glass, you’ll play a key role in producing and processing high-quality glass products. You’ll support our production processes, uphold quality standards, and ensure safety procedures are always followed._
- **Key Responsibilities**_
- _Operating Machinery: Run various machines used in cutting, shaping, and processing glass, following operational and safety procedures._
- _Glass Handling: Load and unload glass safely onto production lines or machines, ensuring careful handling to prevent damage._
- _Quality Control: Inspect finished products for defects such as chips or cracks and report any issues promptly._
- _Assembly & Packaging: Assist in assembling glass units (e.g., double glazing) and prepare them for safe transport or further processing._
- _Safety & Maintenance: Follow all health and safety regulations and carry out basic equipment checks, reporting any faults._
- _Material Handling: Move raw materials to production areas and help manage inventory to keep operations running smoothly._
- _Team Support: Work collaboratively to meet production targets, maintain a clean workspace, and support various tasks as needed._
- **Essential Criteria**_
- _Previous experience in a manufacturing or factory environment._
- _Hardworking and reliable._
- _A team player with strong communication and interpersonal skills._
- _Able to follow instructions accurately and work with attention to detail._
- _Physically fit with good hand-eye coordination, as the role involves manual handling and standing for long periods._
- **Desirable (Non-Essential) Criteria**_
- _Experience in the glass industry is desirable but not required, as full training will be provided._
- _Flexibility to work night shifts if required._
- Driving licence: Preferred **but not required**:

- FLT (Forklift Truck) licence: Preferred **but not required**

- _Working Hours / Shift Pattern: 37.5 hours per week, rotating weekly shifts:_
- _Week 1: 06:00 - 14:00_
- _Week 2: 14:00 - 22:00_
- **Hourly Rate**: £13.05
- **Standard Weekly Pay**: £489.38 (based on 37.5 hours, paid weekly)
- **Overtime Rates**:

- **Weekdays**: Time and a half (1.5x hourly rate)
- **Saturdays**:

- First 4 hours: Time and a half (1.5x)
- After 4 hours: Double time (2x)
- **Sundays**: Double time (2x)
- _Positions Available: 10+_

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: From £13.05 per hour
