As the Panel Chair, your primary responsibility will be to preside over panel meetings and ensure that all agenda items are addressed while ensuring that the panel is functioning in compliance with Fostering Regulations and Inspire Fostering's policies and procedures.

Keeping the experience of the Child at the centre of your discussions you will lead the independent scrutiny of Fostering Assessments and Reviews in order to make recommendations to the Agency Decision Maker in respect of carer’s suitability to foster and/or any changes to their approval.

As a skilled communicator, you will play a critical role in supporting the development of the Fostering Service by establishing strong links with the Fostering Management Team and the Agency Decision Maker. To be successful in this role, you will need to possess excellent listening and communication skills, as well as the ability to assess information presented to the panel, both in written and verbal forms.

The expectation is that you will provide leadership to the panel by being well prepared, reading panel papers carefully identifying key issues and alerting the Registered Manager if necessary to any concerns. The successful applicant also needs to be able to provide focus, manage time and create a safe space to consider complex issues and record clear decision making in the presence of panel members.

You will be committed to continuous development and learning and be able to promote best practice and assist in the recruitment appointment and appraisal of panel members as required.

This is an independent position and remuneration is per panel attended.

The successful applicant must have the ability to converse with members of the public and provide advice in accurate, spoken English.

**Salary**: £250.00 per day
