Protocol are working closely with a college based in Leeds in their search for an experienced **_Careers Advisor _**to work with students aged 16 - 19 during their time in education and support them through their next steps to employment.

The College is looking for an inspirational and visionary individual to join the Careers department temporary for one year. You should have a track record of outstanding success, be well-qualified, and be pro-active in a commitment to providing the highest quality Careers services to our students.

**The role;**
This role is offering* _full time hours (37hrs per week) _**and will run on a **_fixed term basis for one year. _*
The key priority for the department is to provide outstanding information, advice, and guidance to all students to allow students to flourish and reach their potential. Careers is embedded into all aspects of the student's study programme including curriculum, tutorials, PTE, ND+ and enrichment. The department offers a creative approach to careers guidance with traditional daily face to face telephone and e-guidance appointments. The department is pro-active in engaging with external organisations including networking with employers, HE institutions and apprenticeship providers to ensure students are provided with the latest information and choices for progression routes.

The department produces a high-quality annual Careers programme which also highlights how the college is meeting all eight Gatsby benchmarks through innovative events and activities. The Careers team consisting of four members of staff: Head of Careers, two Careers Advisors and one Employer Engagement Lead, pride themselves of being friendly, supportive, and accessible to students, staff and parent/guardians.

Throughout the year four large scale events take place delivered by the Careers team including Higher Education Day, Careers Fair, STEM fair and L6 Parent Options evening. Compulsory career's
guidance is prioritised for our Level 2 students, U6 jobseekers, early leavers and students on an EHCP. Work experience has expanded each year as the department provide unique opportunities for students to engage with employers through work shadowing, industry placements, employer insight days and virtual work experience opportunities.

**The person;**
We are therefore seeking individuals with a background in careers support and guidance. This individual should be passionate about supporting young people into the world of work and have proven experience in the provision of support and guidance to students and young adults. Along with this you will have Have a commitment to a student-centred approach and determination to help all students achieve positive progression outcomes in line with their ambitions and Highly successful experience of advising young people about building their skills and experiences so they have more choices in future.

**Have you got what it takes?**
- Excellent working experience of Careers Advice and Guidance to young people
- Professional qualification in Careers Guidance and Development minimum of Level 4 or equivalent
- Grade 5 or above in GCSE English & Maths or equivalent
- Excellent working knowledge of Gatsby benchmarks
- Have a high level of communication & interpersonal skills
