**Purpose of the role**
As a Wayleave Officer, you will be responsible for the negotiation and acquisition of wayleave agreements, in a timely and accurate manner, to enable the delivery of major telecommunications FTTP projects.
**Scope**:
**Client target**
To work with the Client Services Manager, clients, and team members to contribute towards the achievement of operational and financial targets.
**Client contact**
Contact with account team, Client Services Manager, Head of Client Services, and external clients
**Client relationships**:
- Acquire relevant client background knowledge
- Maintain and nurture excellent client relationships
- Effectively manage and deliver on client expectations
**Financial management**:
- Being aware of the project team’s financial targets and working towards driving positive gross margin and profit
**Project management**:
- Actively communicate with all stakeholders, including internal and external collaboration
- Prioritise, manage, and evaluate the projects under your responsibility
- Organise your workload and schedule to make sure you meet deadlines
- Negotiate and administer wayleaves or associated consents in line with regulatory requirements
- Define ‘best practice’ and innovative business processes to ensure an optimised wayleave provision
**Analysis/reporting**:
- Analyse and evaluate databases to validate and ascertain ownership of private land
- Report and present on wayleave progress and metrics to the Client Services Manager, wider team, and external parties if necessary
**Communication**:
- Openly communicate and collaborate on projects within the account and wider team
- Appropriately liaise with the legal team to ensure legal consents are negotiated with the interests of our clients
**Minimum skills and knowledge**:
**Essential**
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office - specifically Excel, Word, and Outlook
Must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Must have proven record of working in deadline-driven, pressurised environment
Must have proven experience in preparing and reviewing legal documents
Basic knowledge and understanding of the legislation relating to rights over land, particularly the Electronic Communications Code at Schedule 3A Communications Act 2003
**Desirable**
MRICS or AssocRICS
Undergraduate degree in related fields
Understanding of FTTP networks and build methods is desirable
Project Management accreditation, e.g. Prince 2, Agile etc.
