Npd Technologist

A UK family run food manufacturer has an exciting opportunity for an NPD Technologist.

All training will be provided, and any previous employees have gone on to work at big brands/blue chips due to the fantastic training provided.

**The Role**:

- Duties to include but not limited to:

- Be passionate about food and keep abreast of food trends
- Be able to write effectively and eloquently about current food trends and contribute to ad-hoc reports.
- Develop ideas of food trends and innovations
- To be organised and aware of stock rotation
- Utilise your IT abilities via Microsoft packages including Word, Power Point, Excel and the Internet to assist in the completion of weekly newsletters
- Work quickly and effectively under pressure.
- Undertake daily tasks (with training and supervision); including calibration, preparation of samples, organising samples for delivery, completing relevant production and laboratory organoleptics, chilli testing & writing recipes
- Attend factory trials and first productions, and relevant associated meetings
- To be visible and accountable, taking responsibility & working hard to grow food manufacturing knowledge.
- Ensure, with support from Development Supervisor(s), the lab is kept to a BRC AA* standard.
- Undertake adhoc duties outside of your usual responsibilities and work longer hours if required to meet the requirements of the business.
- Hands-on kitchen experience is advantageous, but not a must (this can include advanced domestic experience).
- BRC knowledge (but not essential)
- To be able to work well within a small team as well as use your own initiative
- Hands-on kitchen skills
- Professional attitude and organised
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to write eloquently.
- Good IT skills including Microsoft Word, Power Point and Excel
- Willingness to learn new in-house systems
- Be organised and able to manage time effectively
- Be able to work under pressure
