**Job Title**: School Minibus Driver

**Location**: South Lee Prep School & Nursery, Nowton Road, Bury St Edmunds

**Hours**: 06:00 to 08:30 daily. Term-time only. Part-time position.

**Salary**: £9.50 per hour + holiday pay

**Probationary Period**:Six months

**Reports To**:School Business Manager and Site Manager

We are looking for school minibus drivers to join our hard-working and inclusive staff.

**Purpose of the Role**

You will be a friendly, hard-working, and flexible member of our school team, working under the guidance of the School Business Manager and Site Manager. You will have a good understanding of safe driving as well as the ability to build positive relationships with the pupils and parents to ensure a safe and positive experience each day.

This role may also be combined with the Site Maintenance role.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Vehicle use and maintenance
- Carry out ROSPA vehicle check each morning
- Drive safely following the highway code to bring children to school during term time only
- Comply with the law
- Ensure that pupils are safe on the bus each morning
- Report any vehicle defects to the Bursar immediately
- Clean the inside and outside of the bus each week
- Carry out weekly checks to the bus
- If available, drive staff and children during the day
- Open up parts of the school on arrival

**Attributes**
- Demonstrate a good safety record
- Have a clean driving licence
- Able to work with children without distraction
- Possess good interpersonal skills
- South Lee Prep & Nursery minibus drivers are expected to take a Suffolk County Council minibus test

**First Aid**
- All drivers should preferably have a current basic first aid certificate, or be prepared to attend a training course.

**Other Duties and Responsibilities**
- Support the aims and ethos of the school;
- Set a good example in terms of dress, punctuality, and attendance;
- To promote the school
- Liaison with parents directly regarding pick up details and support for new bus users

- Ability to stick to time schedules;
- Inclusive, kind and empathetic.

**Terms of Employment**
- A part-time role, term-time only.
- There may be opportunities in busy periods to work additional hours should you wish.
