Reading, United Kingdom Thames Water Utilites Full time

**Who are we?**

Thames Water is the UK’s largest water and wastewater company. We make a daily difference to our 15 million customers by supplying 2.6 billion litres of water through 32,000 km’s of pipes,** to keep taps flowing and toilets flushing**. We are an essential service and have operated throughout the Covid19 pandemic.

At Thames Water, every one of our actions, big and small, matters every day. Water is essential to daily life, and that means our business is always open.

**What you’ll be doing**

This business-critical role is to understand the asset investment requirements relating to how we need to manage and evolve the wastewater network across the Thames Water region.
- Create regional-based System Plans that meet customer, stakeholder, regulator, and strategy requirements.
- Build and maintain within the System Plan, a prioritised list of investment needs using information gathered from environmental data, customer engagement/complaint data, asset performance data, hydraulic modelling, and various decision support tools.
- Represent your team at regular operational risk review meetings and regularly engage with the teams that manage the sewer network, pumping stations, and process sites. From these meetings, you will be expected to formulate concise investment requirements and promote them through the corporate Risk Framework.
- Identify system design capability in terms of capital and operational expenditure as well as system risk and performance.
- Steer a technical area for a specific asset type to promote investment in the current Asset Management Period (AMP) and build the requirements for future AMPs.
- Contribute to the development of Drainage and Wastewater Management Plans (DWMP’s) ensuring that site-specific investigative work is succinctly briefed, and appropriate constrained interventions are identified.
- Provide concise technical information in a style and language our customers and stakeholders can understand.
- Represent Thames Water Asset Management at stakeholder and customer forums as required.

**We’re looking for you to**
- Be a driven individual, who is methodical, articulate, and a good communicator
- Have good influencing and negotiation skills.
- Be able to work with and interpret large data sets.
- Have previous experience and knowledge of wastewater network and wastewater treatment; the UK water industry and utility intensive industries are desirable.
- Possess strong knowledge of asset management techniques and the regulatory landscape in which we operate.

**What’s in it for you?**

This is an exciting opportunity to join a technically diverse, friendly, and engaging team that manages our wastewater planning and investment requirements. You will work in a position that allows you good exposure to all levels within the business, providing you with the chance to interact with several key internal and external stakeholders.

Our competitive salary package includes an excellent contributory pension, 26 days holiday per year increasing to 30 days with a length of service, and a wider benefits scheme.

Thames Water is a unique, rewarding, and diverse place to work. If you join our team, you’ll enjoy fast-tracked career opportunities, flexible working arrangements, and unparalleled benefits.
