**Job Title - Support Worker/Care Worker/Personal Care Assistant (Not agency)**

**Wage**:£11.44-£12.50 / per hour.

Numerous shifts are available, including days and nights. This will be discussed further at the interview stage.

**Job purpose**

I am a female wheelchair user with multiple long-term disabilities and I am seeking a compassionate, reliable and dedicated female employee to work as my personal care assistant.

Please note this role is not part of an agency, and I will be your direct employer.

This role involves providing personalised support and assistance to help enhance my quality of life and promote my independence. The aim is to help me with anything I would do myself if I were not disabled. This includes (but is not limited to) various things such as practical support, help with admin and education, going outside, and helping me live my life alongside my beautiful dog. I aim to have a professional but friendly relationship with my caregivers.

**Main Responsibilities (Non-exhaustive)**
- Assist with activities of daily living, including things like administering medication, meal preparation, personal hygiene, grooming and dressing.
- Manual handling.
- Provide company as well as emotional and physical support.
- Help with household tasks such as housekeeping, laundry and grocery shopping.
- I enjoy shopping, listening to music, art and going on days out, etc. I want my caregivers to enjoy the experiences with me and to be happy to join in with how I spend my time.

**Minimum Qualifications**_, _**Experience and Skills required**
- I am not massively fixated on qualifications, but I would rather the applicant is happy to learn, be flexible to my changing needs, prioritise confidentiality and have a joyful and energetic presence.
- I have a large breed puppy who is a big part of my world. You will need to be comfortable with her and happy to engage with walking, feeding, and toileting. Previous experience with dogs is an added bonus.
- Covering colleagues’ shifts may sometimes be needed, so flexibility is important, even at short notice.
- Reliable and responsible with a strong commitment to punctuality and attendance.
- Having a care certificate would be beneficial but not required.
- A DBS check will be required before starting. This can be arranged before your employment commences if you don’t have one.
- A driving licence and access to a car is desired.
- A high level of written and spoken English is required.
