**Job Purpose**

The Packaging Co-ordinator is responsible for co-ordinating the timely approval of all new packaging items, re-designs and graphic/copy changes across any combination of the foods, Oils, Fish, Italian and drinks sectors of the total business.

**Dimensions**

Progression of artwork and reprographic processes for over 1,000 branded and customer own brand SKU’s and over 2,000 approval cycles per annum.

**Principal Responsibilities**
- Day to day project co-ordination of packaging launches, re-designs and minor amends, helping to create and issue critical paths to track launch progress.
- Liaising with packaging development on the implementation of new packaging formats, ensuring structural and graphic elements are in harmony in meeting the required deadlines.
- Initiate and assist with control of the information flow between all internal key stakeholders, retailers, printers, reprographic houses and artwork houses to ensure that all projects are maintained on schedule and to budget. To highlight in advance (to line manager and key stakeholders) any project at risk of delay.
- Ensuring that all new or changed packaging components will be available for the time of the launch or changeover date.
- Responsible for setting up and controlling the digital asset management online artwork approval processes, to be used to control the approval of all artwork assets.
- To interact with all retail customers’ digital asset management systems, ensuring that their systems are used correctly and protocols observed.
- If requested, to perform quarterly packaging audits at nominated internal and third-party warehouses and our major retail customers, identifying issues and working these through to resolution. Issue of regular reports to demonstrate progress.
- To provide project updates and derive actions at appropriate internal and external meetings and communicate updates to the wider business.
- Recording and reporting of all APC spend to the relevant Marketing Managers, as instructed by line manager.
- To co-ordinate and if requested attend pre-artwork meetings with retail customers, artwork houses, reprographic houses and printers.
- Responsible for final artwork approval for all new packaging items, undertaking business and customer approval on first print runs in person as required. To check printed packaging quality and instruct remedial action if necessary.
- Maintain a comprehensive digital asset library of all artwork assets, for all customers and branded products.
- Maintain and update a full library of approved print reference samples against a live SKU list for all relevant products.
- Maintenance of Brandbank image library for all branded and retailer own label images ensuring live product image and data is correctly matched.

**Experience**
- A working knowledge of artwork, print and reprographics.
- Strong project management skills - for planning and delivery of projects on time and to budget whilst under time pressure.
- Experience of using a Digital Asset Management system.
- Experience of negotiating with both internal and external contacts and be capable of contributing within project meetings.
- A working knowledge of packaging materials.
- SAP proficiency for writing purchase orders, goods receipting, master data interrogation etc.
- Good interpersonal skills required for building strong business relationships with our retail customers.

**Skills**

- Use of technology / workflow systems in delivery of high-quality service (ideally artwork)

**Salary**: £16,317.83-£34,398.13 per year
