You will be joining a purchasing team with many exciting challenges, purchasing from a global supplier base to meet the needs of a fast-paced online retail environment in a very fast-moving industry.

The Buyer is responsible for ensuring the company buys products that deliver a great customer experience, whilst ensuring that solutions are good value, monitoring the P&L. The buyer is part of the purchasing team, who work closely to deliver the best possible value, service and customer experience.

**Key duties**
- Ensure each products specification delivers a great customer experience.
- Build strong relationships with suppliers, minimising spend and maximising profit through negotiation and collaboration.
- Maintain pricelists and systems containing purchasing information.
- Monitor spend and orders, ensuring compliance with contracts and prices agreed.
- Set policies and guide staff with critical purchasing decisions.
- Monitor and optimise stock turnover.
- Treat internal stakeholders as your customers and deliver a high level of service.
- Build and maintain reports on the category profitability and effectiveness, troubleshooting shortfalls with suppliers, internal stakeholders and service providers.
- Grow the category by bringing new products to market effectively.
- Source and order packaging and promotional materials.
- Ensure that products are presented effectively on the companies website, making recommendations for improvements.
- Ensure that products fit with the companies brand and comply with all applicable laws.
- Make recommendations to the Purchasing Manager on how to improve the P&L, the customer experience or departments effectiveness.

**Essential skills**:

- CIPS qualification level 4+ or CIPS recognised equivalent.
- 3+ years experience in varying supply chain functions and/or verticals.
- Strong understanding of commercial drivers such as P&L.
- Effective communicator with all levels of stakeholders.
- Advanced Microsoft Office user with ability to manipulate data and draw insights, able to present information effectively.
- Excellent attention to detail, diligence and numerical understanding.
