**Role Overview**

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Head of Sales to spearhead new business development and client engagement initiatives. Based near Leeds (within approximately an hour’s commute), this role offers a nationwide remit to develop strategic relationships and drive sales growth across key sectors.

**Key Responsibilities**

**Business Development**
- Identify and engage potential clients through strategic networking, social media outreach, cold calling, exhibitions, and other lead-generation methods.
- Conduct market research to uncover new business opportunities within target sectors.

**Sales & Account Management**
- Lead technical, consultative sales discussions tailored to the needs of both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Deliver compelling presentations and product demonstrations in person and via virtual platforms.
- Proactively identify, secure, and negotiate new business opportunities while closing sales effectively.
- Collaborate with the senior leadership team to develop and achieve sales targets, forecasts, and strategies.
- Provide exceptional account management to existing clients, ensuring regular engagement and addressing concerns promptly.

**Technical Expertise**
- Offer expert knowledge and technical support for products and services, leveraging your background in relevant fields such as condition monitoring, electronics, or data acquisition.
- Partner with internal engineering teams to align product specifications with customer needs.
- Represent the company at trade shows, conferences, and industry events to promote offerings.

**Customer Support**
- Ensure post-sale customer satisfaction through technical assistance and solutions.
- Act as a liaison between clients and the engineering team to resolve product-related issues efficiently.

**Required Skills and Qualifications**
- **Sales Expertise**: Proven success in technical or solutions-based sales within a relevant industry (rail sector experience is highly desirable).
- **Technical Acumen**: Strong understanding of electronic asset management solutions, predictive analytics, and the ability to convey complex technical information to diverse audiences.
- **Communication Skills**: Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders effectively.
- **Problem-Solving Abilities**: Analytical mindset to address customer needs and overcome technical challenges.
- **Negotiation Skills**: Demonstrated ability to negotiate and close deals while fostering long-term client relationships.
- **Adaptability**: Independent self-starter with the ability to thrive in both team-oriented and autonomous environments.
- **Technical Proficiency**: Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite, CRM platforms, and virtual meeting tools (e.g., Microsoft Teams, Zoom).

**Preferred Qualifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Technology, Business, or a related discipline.
- Experience in B2B sales, with a deep understanding of trends in key UK industry sectors.

**Compensation and Benefits**

Competitive base salary (approximately £60,000) plus benefits and performance-based commission.

Car allowance, pension plan, and 25 days of annual leave plus statutory holidays.
