**Other requirements**: You will have completed a minimum of 2 years of your undergraduate degree but will not have graduated at the start of your placement. You must be enrolled at a UK (United Kingdom) or ROI (Republic of Ireland) University for the duration of your placement.
**If you have already graduated with a bachelor’s degree and are currently studying a postgraduate Masters, you are not eligible for this programme.**
**Language requirement**: Written and spoken fluency in English
**Expected Start date**: July 2026
**Duration**: 1 year (approximately)
**Salary**: A salary of £25,400 plus a bonus.

**Role 1 - Barnard Castle**

Overview of the Department
Key Placement Learnings
- Supporting New Product Introduction (NPI)
- Supporting manufacturing processes and equipment for existing products
- Continuous Improvement (CI) project delivery
- Co-ordination and implementation of planned change
- Supporting troubleshooting of processes and manufacturing investigations.
- Developing skills in continuous improvement and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP)
**Role 2 - Ware**
Workplace Arrangements: Full time on site required
Overview of the Department
The Manufacturing, Science and Technology (MSAT) team monitor the performance of products and equipment platforms within the three production streams. The department oversees all aspects of product lifecycle management, from introduction and scale up of newly developed R&D assets to ensuring robust and repeatable manufacture of commercialised pharmaceutical products.
The MSAT department is responsible for managing and supporting all technical aspects of commercial drug product manufacture at the Ware GSK site. This includes product life cycle management, troubleshooting during manufacturing, planned changes, process improvements, transfer of drug products to new facilities and to other GSK/third party sites, support of regulatory filing, and site audit activities.
Key Placement Learnings
- Trouble shooting during manufacturing and testing of commercial OSD, Respiratory and Micronising drug products
- Involvement in drug product transfers and validation projects within the production facilities
- Managing cleaning validation and annual cleaning monitoring activities
- Leading deviation investigations and manufacturing investigations for atypical/out of specification laboratory results
- Involvement in manufacturing trials for newly developed products
- Supporting the MSAT team in delivering key milestones for new product development
- Leading process improvement projects relating to transfer of products from R&D to manufacturing sites
