**The Job**

Apprentices will be working in all aspects of Roofing. Some examples are:
Slater Tiler:

- Install plain tiles, interlocking tiles, natural slates and fibre-cement slates.
- Install underlay, battens and related roofing components.
- Install dry and wet fixed products to verges, hips, ridge and valleys.

Flat Roofing:

- Install reinforced bitumen, single-ply and liquid applied waterproofing systems.
- Install vapour control layers to prevent vapour coming through the building to protect insulation.
- Terminate waterproofing systems at the perimeter upstands and/or open edges to the given specification.

Although this is a Roofing apprentice role, there may at times be some other aspects of construction involved in, which they shall be supervised and trained. When the apprentices are working, they will be supervised by a fully qualified member of staff and will be shown all the correct procedures including health and safety in the workplace. Along with ensuring that their work area is clean and safe, and that all the tools are cleaned and put away correctly at the end of each day.

Become a self-employed Roofer with the employer.
