We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Proposals Writer to join our VolkerStevin team based at the head office in Preston.

You will be involved in developing win themes, leading storyboarding sessions and crafting winning bid responses. You will take ownership of composing, writing and editing all responses for pre-qualification questionnaires (PQQs) and tenders assigned to you.

You will join our busy, ambitious and successful work-winning team and enjoy the buzz that comes from winning multi-million-pound contracts.

**Key accountabilities**:

- **Write high-quality and customer-focused responses**: Responses that are clear, compliant, persuasive and well-structured.
- **Edit and proofread responses**: To ensure they answer the question and score maximum points, and to improve the structure, readability, grammar, spelling, punctuation and impact.
- **Develop win themes**: Work with colleagues from the wider bid team to identify client drivers and our key selling points.
- **Plan and coordinate the delivery of submissions**: Develop bid plans, schedule reviews and update bid plan trackers to ensure we meet strict deadlines.
- **Write awards submissions**: Work with project teams to gather content, then write submissions for various industry awarding bodies.
- **Prepare and assist with post tender presentations**: Support the development of client-facing presentations after tenders have been submitted.
- **Write case studies, capability statements and evidence pieces**:Collect information from projects and write specific evidence pieces, case studies and capability statements.

**Skills & experience**:

- 3+ years experience in bid writing, marketing or journalism.
- Degree qualified.
- Excellent writing skills with the ability to write elegantly and with flair.
- Excellent editing and proofreading skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- High level of interpersonal skills and ability to engage, motivate and influence others.
- Flexible and approachable team player, but also self-disciplined with the ability to work alone to hit deadlines.
- Ability to quickly interpret and understand information and confidence to challenge solutions to ensure that they exceed client needs.
- Ability to multi-task, organise and work in a high-pressure, deadline-driven environment.

**About us**:
VolkerStevin mainly operates as a Principal Contractor in the marine, defence, nuclear, flood risk management, water, energy, remediation and regeneration sectors. This means you could be working on bids to install and renew vital infrastructure across the country - from flood and coastal defences; to bridges, jetties and port infrastructure; to underground cables to connect wind farms to the grid; to upgrades to water and wastewater networks.

Preston based with hybrid working.
