Join our Nutrition & Dietetics team and be part of this exciting time. We are looking for a highly motivated individual with relevant qualifications, experience and skills to work within our community dietetic team

You will work closely within a designated team of Dietitians receiving delegated work which will include going out independently to review patients in a variety of settings under the guidance of a qualified dietitian. You will also help complete administration duties such as booking in patient visits and setting patients up on our enteral feeding IT systems to ensure these patients receive their nutrition and equipment promptly. We would also look to support you complete a foundation degree in health if this is something that you would be keen to pursue.

The post holder will work alongside other department members to assist with the provision of a professional and constantly developing nutrition and dietetic service to patients and their carers within the local health economy. The role will involve supporting the dietitians with clinical administration duties such as setting up new patients on our home enteral feeding patient system and facilitating the booking of patients as well as clinical duties and conducting basic reviews within various care settings.

1. Communication and relationship skills
- To communicate with other healthcare professionals at all levels in the community
- To maintain accurate records according to Organisation policies
- To assist with the development, design and production of resources such as client info, training programmes, displays, handouts and evaluation tools.
- To participate in dietetic service meetings, department meetings, MDT meetings, care planning meetings
- To establish rapport with a wide range of patients and carers, working in a non-discriminatory fashion
- To maintain good verbal, written and electronic communication systems ensuring that communication is clear and effective and cascaded to all staff in the team

1. Knowledge, training and experience
- Good interpersonal skills including good written and verbal skills

- To attend in-service training and courses where appropriate

1. Analytical and judgement skills
- To assess, advise and liase with patients with the support from a qualified dietitian
- To assist with the undertaking of a yearly audit including producing reports and present findings
- Participate in the collection, collation, analysis, evaluation and administration of data for Department audit purposes.
- To check food record charts.
- To interpret and monitor anthropometric measurements including BMIs, weights and MUST scores.
