We are looking for someone who is a great role model to the team and who is confident of their clinical skills in an urgent care setting, supports best practice, person centred care and able to monitor governance that promotes patient and staff safety.
Based in Townlands Hospital, Henley on Thames the Minor Injury Unit and GP Out of Hours services supports patients patients presenting with acute minor injuries 7 days a week. The based also is responsible for urgent primary care illness presentations referred via 111 to the base for clinical assessment when the GP surgeries are closed.
The Oxford GP Out of Hours service operates from East Oxford Health Centre in Manzil Way, Cowley, Oxford The Out of Hours Service provides urgent primary care outside of the normal GP surgery and pharmacy opening hours.
As a clinically credible and highly visible Emergency Practitioner, you will work closely with the leadership team to drive forward clinical practice across your assigned areas. You will work within the local healthcare system to promote the delivery of the right care, right place, at the right time by the most appropriate clinician.
The role is across two sites and you will be supported in your leadership role with clinical management days to fulfil the leadership role.
As the Clinical Lead for the Henley team and Oxford Out of Hours base you will provide operational and clinical leadership to both sites to provide the following
Effective, compassionate, and inclusive leadership and line management of staff
Clinical audit with a focus upon driving high standards of care
Support to the infection and prevention and control team to ensure excellent IPC standards are achieved and maintained
Work closely with the quality and patient safety teams to ensure that safe and effective patient care is delivered, and learning taken forward
Lead the clinical development of the services in line with national guidelines and developments in the evidence base
Ensure arrangements are in place for all service members to receive regular supervision, performance development review and training needs identified and where possible, met
Lead & motivate staff to provide a pro-active and responsive high-quality service, contributing to ongoing audit and evaluation.
Ensure that the necessary systems & protocols for the delivery of a safe & supportive service are in place, understood & adhered to throughout the Service.
Ensure that effective communications systems are established, maintained and monitored regularly within the Service & between the Teams & other services/agencies/partners.
