Senior Credit Controller

Our Client - a well-established service provider that has gone through solid growth in the last few years - is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Senior Credit Controller to join their team on a full-time basis on a 12 month Fixed Term Contract, basedat their Head Office in Coalville.
Key responsibilities:
? Control all aspects of customer credit through the effective operation of invoicing, payments, and aged debt systems.
? Accurately process and match all payments received from customers.
? Contact all customers primarily via telephone promptly when chasing old, current, and recent debt.
? Escalate any payment issues with the line manager to ensure any delays are prevented
? Confidently negotiate payment plans where necessary. Approval must be obtained.
? Resolving queries both internally and externally around outstanding invoices, contact customers and depots where necessary and escalating issues to the line manager
? Providing accounts information to internal departments
? Act as first line support to team in relation to complex queries and problematic customer accounts, allocations and cash collections
? Deputise for Credit control manager during times of absence
? Look for ways to continually review and improve existing processes and make recommendations to line manager and Transactional Finance Manager.
? Assist with training new staff and migrating existing processes to new Finance system
? Assist with credit checks, credit limits and onboarding process for new customers
? Make decisions and recommendations on escalation of bad debtors with Line manager and senior management based on activity already undertaken by team
? To undertake additional responsibilities and duties as may be reasonably requested from time to time.
Qualifications and skills
? Minimum of 2 years experience in the credit control function, ideally in a similar Senior position
? Good understanding of credit control function
? Demonstrable experience of chasing debt and implications of aged debt
? Experience of credit insurance and managing over trading
? Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy
? Excellent written and verbal communication skills at all levels
? Good Excel and IT skills and demonstrates ability to work with different systems
? A continuous improvement ethos, with experience of process improvements
Package
- Appointment Type: Fixed Term Contract (12 months)
- Starting Salary: £25,000 - £28,000 per annum
- Hours: Full-Time (40 hours per week)
- Holiday 23 Days + Bank Holidays
