To support the provision of the community dermatology service by providing specialist nursing care.

Working closely with the GPs and specialist nurses interested in extended roes in Dermatology, Minor Surgery and Lymphoedema - also other members of the multidisciplinary team.

The Lymphoedema team provides specialist treatment and education for patients with primary or secondary lymphoedema, with an emphasis on best management and encouraging the patient to take on-going control of their condition by enabling self-management where possible.

**Main Responsibilities**:

- To provide assistance to specialist nurse led services to patients.
- To undertake clinical work delegated by the Lymphoedema Clinical Specialists through being responsible for a list of less complex clients and through shared care with qualified staff; this may include basic re
- assessment, e.g. measurement of limb volume and basic treatment, e.g. provision of information on exercise, skin care, simple self-massage, kinesio tape and compression garments.
- To contribute to documenting medical notes and records.
- To contribute with investigating and recording incidents
- To liaise with a range of Health Professionals regarding confidential patient’s information and document the information accurately
- To contribute to audits
- To be able to manage time constraints and pressures on a frequent basis, meeting fluctuating priorities
- To contribute to the effectiveness of team working through timely and appropriate communications between all work colleagues
- To prepare equipment and the environment for clinics and maintain stocks and safe storage systems. To maintain equipment in clean and sound condition

**Communication**
- To maintain accurate timely records of all interventions and communications on S1, including letter writing.
- To provide clients with general information and advice on a wide range of services that could meet their needs and improve their quality of life.

**Professional Development**
- To co-ordinate own workload delegated from Clinical Specialists
- To understand and appreciate the limitations of own clinical competencies and to seek g1uidance when appropriate..
- To participate in annual appraisal and develop individual development plans.
- Maintains clinical expertise by education and in
- service training.

**Health and Safety**
- Attends statutory training with respect to lifting, fire safety and any other required
- Reports any defect in equipment immediately to the person with overall responsibility at that time
- Undertake risk assessments.

**Key working relationships**

Clinical Colleagues - working collaboratively, sharing information, and giving advice, and guidance about specialist services.

Patients and families - to work independently with patients and their families, providing ongoing, maintenance treatment and education.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: From £12.00 per hour

Expected hours: 16 - 21 per week
