Flourish Education is currently working with an Ofsted rated ‘Good’ school near Alum Rock who are recruiting an Early Years Teaching Assistant join their support staff on a long-term basis. The school is a larger than average mainstream primary school that invest in their staff. They understand the importance of staff wellbeing and provide appropriate practical support where necessary.
Our client wants to appoint a dedicated Teaching Assistant to work in a Reception class who has a good knowledge of the curriculum, strong behaviour management and encourages students to achieve their best. Responsibilities in this role will include providing support to the teacher and class, delivering 1:1 and small group interventions and preparing the classroom ahead of lessons.
Experience using Little Wandle is desirable but not essential.
This Teaching Assistant role will start at the end of September and is expected to continue until the end of the academic year. The position is 4.5 days a week.
- Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or above
- Experience in Early Years
- Good behaviour management
- Commitment to the role
- Experience using Little Wandle is desired but not required as training will be provided
Responsibilities as a Teaching Assistant:
- Work closely with the class teacher
- Motivate and encourage pupils
- Encourage children’s development and improve their access to the curriculum
- Help children to develop learning skills, manage their own learning and manage their time
- Provide small group interventions to those who need the extra support
