Bury, United Kingdom Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust Full time

This is an ideal opportunity for someone with experience of working with patients in a health, social or customer care setting.
You will be an essential part of a large team of therapists based at Fairfield General Hospital. The role will involve working as part of the Stroke Occupational therapy team.

You will work within the occupational therapy team, however, you will also work as part of the wider MDT. You will be supported by a team which takes a proactive and innovative approach to continuous professional development, evidence based practice and service development.

The successful applicant needs to be enthusiastic and motivated to support the inpatient stroke team with timely assessments, therapy and discharges and in doing so, be responsible for providing support work to aid the rehabilitation of patients. You will be dynamic in assisting with the treatment of patients ensuring appropriate pathways of care are followed, as well as demonstrating communication skills via liaison with other agencies as required.

Within this role you will work as part of the Stroke Occupational Therapy team based on the Fairfield General hospital site, as part of Bury Care Organisation, delivering a range of treatment programmes and will have the ability to manage a delegated caseload. This will include gaining experience on the sub-acute stroke rehabilitation wards, working as part of the wider multi-disciplinary team.

The service is currently working towards providing cover across 7 days.

Bury Care Organisation is part of the Northern Care Alliance, one of the largest NHS organisations in the country. Rated as ‘outstanding’ by the Care Quality Commission, our Fairfield site delivers innovative patient-centred care, and boasts an award winning Stroke centre and Heart Care unit.
