**Job Overview**

**The Kitchen Assistant role is mainly responsible for ensuring food is cooked in line with expectations, served to company standards, and the kitchen is clean, tidy and organised with equipment being adequately maintained. The Kitchen Assistant is also responsible for ensuring all raw ingredients are prepared to allow a fast and efficient service.**

**Responsibilities and Duties**
- Knowledge of kitchen menu and recipes
- Communicate with all staff, including those outside of the kitchen to allow for fast, efficient customer service
- Preparing ingredients for service
- Ensuring sauce bottles are filled and properly labelled
- Ensuring all packaging is fully stocked
- Replenishing food stock throughout service
- Cooking with deep fat fryers
- Assisting senior members of staff prepare & pack food ready for customers
- Preparing food orders to meet company standards
- Ensuring all food orders are prepared in the correct order
- Maintain hygiene standards in kitchen & floor
- Washing dishes
- Ensure cold rooms are clean & organised with stock rotated
- Completing all cleaning duties on schedules and recording, as necessary, on the rotas/checklists
- Disposing of rubbish in a proper manner in the correct bins
- Ensure kitchen area is always clean & clutter free
- Checking deliveries from suppliers against invoices
- Check stock rotation and organisation
- Stock all incoming goods into the correct storage area
- Complete HACCAP duties nightly
- Deputise in the absence of a Kitchen Supervisor, to delegate all tasks and ensure that the kitchen is operating effectively and not impacting on other areas.
- Use of Fryers
- Use of Knife correctly
- Cleaning processes
- Use of Combi Oven
- Use and storage of chemicals
- Dealing with spillages
- Training new employees on the above to help ensure a successful probation period

**Job Type**: Part-time
