**About the role**
Our property and asset management team over see everything from day-to-day maintenance works to large scale projects as well as providing vital support for the Major Projects and Regeneration team in delivering some of the city’s most notable projects. As a Building works Officer at Gloucester City Council you will play a pivotal role in supporting the management team in driving sustainability initiatives, refurbishing properties, maintaining planned maintenance schedules, compliance registers and supporting the corporate Health and Safety function within the team in relation to building ownership.
The Council own a very diverse property portfolio of predominantly commercial buildings ranging from community centres, shopping centres, retail parks, office blocks, cultural buildings such as the City Museum and Guildhall all the way through to scheduled monument and a variety of other grade I and II listed buildings. It really is an exciting time to come and work for the property department.
Your Responsibilities
- Ensure building compliance with council regulations and wider building regulations
- Ensure codes of conduct are adhered to with regards all aspects of Health and Safety such as control of contractors, CDM etc.
- Manage planned and reactive maintenance programmed working with both internal and external teams.
- Carry out building condition inspections and reports
- Identify and manage external specialist contractors
- A degree or relevant qualification in the building / property industry such as MCIOB or MRICS
- A relevant technical qualification
- Evidence of continued professional development
- Experience of building relationships with stakeholders
- Experience of public sector procurement processes
