We have an exciting opportunity for an Operator to join our Finlays site in Hull. Reporting into the Plant Leader, the Operator is responsible for the efficient running of the Cold Brew Coffee production line. This includes initiating production set-up, running the line, troubleshooting, completing documentation and collecting production data and samples for quality programs. Working as part of a small team, the Operator will have strong collaboration skills and will be adaptable - they will contribute as required to ensure the success of the plant. They will demonstrate the ability to work to high quality standards and will have strong attention to detail. The Operator will have a positive ‘can do’ attitude and will be keen to learn and develop. They will be conscientious and will demonstrate our 1Finlays Values by contributing to a positive working environment and culture.

**Key Responsibilities of the Operator**
- To ensure food safety, legality, integrity, authenticity, and quality of the product through adherence to regulatory requirements. Immediate escalation of any risks to Senior Management
- To operate plant and packaging equipment as per defined processes, ensuring adherence to food safety standards and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP)
- To troubleshoot operational issues, for example, minor mechanical problems, and gather required data. Prompt escalation of any issues as required
- To ensure production and quality documentation is completed accurately and promptly. Escalate any issues as required
- To carry-out Clean in Place (CIP) processes as required
- To maintain a clean and tidy work area
- To carry out routine quality checks and tests as required, ensuring Finlays quality systems and processes are adhered to
- To meet production KPIs and targets through efficient operation of plant. Escalate any risks to delivery of targets
- To adhere to H&S standards, including highlighting any risks, in support of our Zero Harm and Always Safe policies
- To proactively develop broader skillset, for example, in Quality and other Production Lines, and to demonstrate a keenness to learn.
- To demonstrate the flexibility, dependability, and adaptability required to support the wider Hull site
- To support with ad hoc management requests as required
**Person Specification**
**Education**
- Educated to GSCE Level in Maths and English (or equivalent) or above
- Quality, Food Safety, Health & Safety, and Engineering qualifications are desirable
**Experience and Skills**
- Operator experience, ideally within a Food and Beverage manufacturing site. Liquid processing, extraction, filtering and packing experience would also be beneficial
- Experience working within an automated plant and HMI and SCADA interfaces is desirable
- Experience working with Clean in Place systems is desirable
- Strong attention to detail
- Strong time management and prioritisation skills. Good attendance is essential
- Ability to work with mínimal supervision
- Good communication and English language skills - both verbal and written
- Good IT skills (Microsoft) with the ability to learn new systems

**Working Environment and Requirements**
- Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment. The role is quite physical, and requires movement between different levels and handling of equipment and containers. Some of the activities involve working in confined spaces.
- There is a requirement to work shifts, including nights and weekends. The working hours for this role will be Tuesday to Thursday 6AM till 6PM.
