The post holder will support the Senior Clinical Effectiveness Facilitator and wider team to coordinate and deliver an effective programme of clinical assurance and improvement activity across the Trust to support the delivery of high-quality patient care, to include the following key priorities
- National and local programme of clinical audit and service evaluation
- Support the Trust NICE guidance review process in order to deliver the best evidence-based care.
Alongside an identified Clinical Lead, and with supervision from the Senior Clinical Effectiveness Facilitator, the post holder will take day to day responsibility for a portfolio of delegated clinical effectiveness projects.
The post is a great opportunity to develop practical and analytical skills that are directly transferable and value adding to any health or social care role.

With supervision, to be the source of advice, support and technical expertise in relation to clinical effectiveness activities and tools; including agreement of project design, data collection and analysis, development of improvement actions, report preparation, and dissemination of results and outcomes.
As supervised by Senior Clinical Effectiveness Facilitator support the Clinical Directorates in the programme of assessing, evaluating and monitoring of performance in relation to standards set by the National Institute for Clinical Excellence (NICE) and other evidence-based standards.
Alongside the designated clinical project lead, support the implementation and communication of recommendations and improvement actions.
The post holder will be required to have a good range of IT skills and have the ability to support the development of effective systems and processes.

- With supervision, to be the source of advice, support, and technical expertise in relation to clinical effectiveness activities and tools; including agreement of project design, data collection and analysis, development of improvement actions, report preparation, and dissemination of results and outcomes.
- In conjunction with team colleagues, develop, review and implement effective ways of sharing information in relation to effectiveness and improvement activities, e.g., reports, leaflets, website, bulletins, etc.
- Work in an effective and collaborative manner with project leads to set timescales and project deliverables and take corrective action/escalate concerns where required.
- To promote multidisciplinary working and support service user involvement in clinical effectiveness and improvement activity, where appropriate.
- Seek out best practice and develop relationships with other external organisations e.g., the East of England Clinical Audit and NICE Network.
- To advise the Senior Clinical Effectiveness Facilitator of risks identified though effectiveness projects in a timely manner.
- Be responsible for the effective monitoring of delegated clinical effectiveness projects, from registration through to the follow up of improvement actions.
- Build good working relationships with Trust managers and frontline staff and act as an ambassador for the Clinical Effectiveness Team within and external to the Trust.
- To maintain accurate and comprehensive records for delegated effectiveness activities in the most appropriate format using a range of software for data handling as appropriate (Access, Excel, Word, Power point, etc.)
- Support the accurate maintenance of a Trust NICE concordance Database.
- Design simple but effective data collection tools/databases for clinicians and other healthcare professionals for clinical audit and other improvement project purposes.
