**Crematorium Assistant / Driver**

**£11.00 per hour (overtime rates available)**

**40 hours per week, Mon - Fri with the ability to work overtime on evening and weekends when required**

An opportunity has arisen at our lovely pet crematorium in East Boldon for a Crematorium Assistant / Driver. The primary purpose of the role, but not limited to, will be to provide a home collection service from our client’s home addresses, therefore it is essential that you are well presented and be of a caring and empathetic nature when speaking with clients and their families.

Working as an integral member within our fantastic team, you will be motivated to provide an excellent service to our veterinary and private clients. Ideally you will be someone who is motivated to provide an excellent service, hardworking and the ability to work accurately with very good attention to detail.

Training will be provided within your role whilst working but any specialist training will be provided away from the working environment.

**The Duties will Include**:

- Liaising with members of the public both at the crematorium and in their homes whilst welcoming and collecting deceased pets with the upmost dignity and respect at all times
- You will carry out the cremation of our clients beloved pets and ensure they receive the utmost dignity.
- You will ensure the pets ashes are laid to rest within the clients requested vessel ensuring they are prepared with dignity to the pet owner’s requirements.
- Carrying out collections from our veterinary practices collecting deceased pets and clinical waste as part of holiday cover and additional one-off collections
- Thorough and methodical, following procedures accurately and completing all required documentation
- Answering telephone calls, taking messages, arranging appointments and data entry
- Loading and unloading vehicles.
- Picking of stock orders and assisting with regular stock checks
- Maintaining the cleanliness and tidiness of the crematorium, yard and stores at all times
- To be a proactive and supportive member of the team

**What we are looking for**:

- An organised approach with excellent time management skills
- Good communication skills
- Presentable at all times
- The ability to work well as part of a small team
- A good level of English spelling and grammar
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Can lift and carry heavy items
- The ability to use your own initiative but also know when matters need to be referred to a supervisor
- A clean driving license and own transport will be essential.
