Shift Supervisor

We are recruiting for a **Nightshift Supervisor** within our Precision Manufacturing Division in Aviemore, our state-of-the-art centre of excellence for the manufacture of precision machined components.

The Shift Supervisor will supervise all shift personnel to ensure that they are carrying out their duties as per their job description, to ensure that work is appropriately scheduled on to the shop floor and to ensure that on time delivery, utilisation, productivity, quality and cost targets are met. The role is anticipated to be around 20% supervisory with the remainder of the time being taken up on CNC Operator/Setter or Inspection duties. The Shift Supervisor may also be required to support other manufacturing operations as directed by Management. Additionally the Night Shift Supervisor and Weekend Shift Supervisor will be responsible for First-off inspection as required.

**Desirable Qualifications/Experience/Competencies**
- HNC Engineering or equivalent
- HNC Management, Certificate in Management or equivalent
- CNC operator setter with experience on Mori Seiki machines with FANUC controller
- Previous supervisory experience.

Duties include but will not be limited to:

- All safety rules and regulations must be conformed to at all times.
- All equipment should be handled/stored in a safe manner and in such a way that no damage occurs
- Work area should be kept clean and tidy at all times and all spillages should be dealt with at the earliest opportunity
- Opening and closing factory at start/end of shift and premise security out-with normal working hours.
- Carry out regular Safety audits as required
- Work with Factory Management to determine manufacturing priorities and organize Shift workforce accordingly.
- Performance Management of all reporting employees - Absence, lateness, quality, productivity, behaviour’s and overall performance - including carrying out Performance Appraisals, counselling and first level disciplinary action.
- Responsible for First-off inspection during shift if there are no dedicated inspectors on that shift.
- Carry out 1 to 1 discussions with employees
- Develop and execute to an agreed training plan for all reporting employees
- Monitor ‘consumable tooling’ stock levels for work in progress
