- **The Role**_
The Commercial Director will work with Directors, Heads of Department and Functional Management team across the business to devise successful marketing strategies, to engage the right customers with our products and brand proposition. This role will be criticalfor both GSL and GSUK as each Business is different and will be responsible for devising a strategy and approach to the market that is bespoke for each one.
The Commercial Director is responsible for the planning and delivering of sales and marketing strategy of a £20M business group, which seeks to rapidly grow to £70M, whilst operating a positive environment which is conducive to these growth ambitions andteamwork.
The Commercial Director is also responsible for setting the sales and marketing strategy of the company and its’ separate brands, both short and long term, a**s well as n**ew products launches and product promotion as a key function and successcriteria of team.
**Key responsibilities of the role will include**:
- Advise Senior Leadership team and the board on all relevant sales and marketing related activities
- Responsible for all overall sales performance reporting and analysis requirements, including monthly board packs, ensuring the efficient and timely production of consistent, succinct, accurate and relevant sales and marketing Management Information (MI)
- To develop a commercial trading environment conducive to delivering the strategy and achieving the required objectives of GSG
- To devise, communicate and implement Group Brand Strategy and take responsibility for and manage team performance to achieve the high-performance levels set by the company
- To lead on the development and implementation of the E-Marketing and Social Media strategy and actively lead the sales and marketing team to ensure business performance is understood, opportunities identified, and targets are achieved across all sales &Marketing KPI's
- Actively engage with Sales and Marketing Team to produce an accurate and mutually agreed weekly, monthly, quarterly and annually sales outlook/forecast, challenging inputs where necessary and identifying any risks or opportunities to forecast

- Knowledge of WEEE and Environmental Legislation
- Excellent copy-writing and English skills as well as strong graphic capabilities
- Highly analytical and investigative skills are essential
- Excellent commercial/business awareness
- Excellent organisation, presentation and written communication skills with excellent/obsessive attention to detail
- Expert user of Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Competent user of IT and other software packages
- Proven experience of direct sales in B2B corporate market, with a focus on new business acquisition
- Experience of building relationships maintaining a network of contacts at all levels
- Have real commercial acumen and a focus on financial issues
- Be an outstanding communicator and negotiator
