Red Moor School is a specialist provision positioned near Lanlivery in mid-Cornwall. The school provides full-time specialist co-education for up to 36 children aged 5-16 who have social, emotional, mental health and communication difficulties or associatedbehaviours that challenge. Unable to achieve in a mainstream environment, our aim is to help pupils excel by providing a structured, nurturing approach, with students accessing a broad, balanced, engaging and extraordinarily rich curriculum. With its largebuilding and extensive grounds, Red Moor School is an environment where children learn to thrive both in the classroom and outdoors, helping them to be the best.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will connect directly with the brilliant children and young people we care for, helping to make sure they get the very best from their education. Each individual has so much potential, and they will rely on you to guide theirlearning journeys.

You will help prepare learning materials and run classroom activities, with plenty of hands-on experience and some supervision too. You will take responsibility for their emotional and physical needs, supporting them to develop as individuals and engagewith the world.

Supporting children with complex Social Emotional Mental Health (SEMH) needs is important and rewarding work, and you will benefit from the tremendous support offered by our hugely experienced teams. As you help our children and young people achieve realand significant progress, you will enjoy having a direct, positive impact on their developing lives.

**Who we are looking for**

You don’t need any experience to join our team. If you come from hospitality, the army, outdoor activity centres or an office-based job but are eager to help vulnerable children and young people to live happy, fulfilling lives, this is the role for you.We will provide you with full training and development to succeed within your role.

You will be adaptable and ready to work in a variety of classroom roles, both indoors and outside according to individual need. Taking a responsive and caring approach, you may be running classroom activities, leading outdoor experiences or supervising childrenas they explore further afield.
