**About the role**
This is a fantastic opportunity to join our team as one of our highly valued and integral Workshop Shift Supervisors. Based at our newly refurbished Fleet Engineering Workshop in Newquay (with brand new equipment), this role offers a fantastic opportunity to enjoy everything Cornwall has to offer.
In this role, you will be both maintaining vehicles and supervising a team of technicians in the maintenance and repair of the customers fleet of vehicles, PSV’s, and associated specialist machinery. We support 150 buses in Cornwall, so this role is an integral part of an exciting team, who work together reactively to deliver fantastic service. Some of the responsibilities are:
- To undertake a comprehensive range of diagnostic processes and all associated repairs and maintenance
- To be responsible for ensuring that all vehicles and equipment worked on leave in a roadworthy, task-ready and safe for use condition when leaving your control.
- To liaise with internal and external customers to explain maintenance and repair works required, workload and expected start/completion times, to prioritise appropriately and to prepare draft estimates for work as and when required.
- To manage your own performance and the performance of staff you supervise in order to deliver the required level of service by the appropriate allocation of time and staff resources to the tasks in order to achieve the targets.

**About you**
We are looking for you to bring:
- NVQ3/IMI Level 3 Competence & Technical Certificate/City & Guilds Level 3 Competence & Technical Certificate in Passenger Carrying Vehicle, Light Vehicle, Heavy Vehicle or Land-Based Engineering (Plant) and awareness or experience of the other disciplines.
- Good standard of general education with Level 2 in English Language and mathematics. Science GCSE or equivalent would be an advantage.
- Proven track record of industry experience in a workshop as a fully qualified technician.
- A keen awareness of current Health and Safety legislation to include COSHH and HASAWA.
- A qualified DVSO approved MOT Nominated Tester and ‘O’ licence inspector or demonstrates a clear ability and willingness to achieve this.
- You will have a full UK Driving Licence (and a full basic tool kit, tool allowance is paid)
**Our offer to you**
**Salary: £41,691 (plus tool allowance)**
**Working Hours: An average of 40 hours per week**
**Shift Pattern: Working an early shift of 0400 - 1500 or a late shift of 1300 - 0000, 3 days on shift, 2 days off shift with 2 in 5 weekends off**
**Contract Type: Permanent**
**Base: Newquay Workshop**
