The basics:
Job Title: Buyer

Location: Coalville

Position: Permanent

Basic salary: £30000 to £33000

Hours: Mon-Thurs (7:30am - 4:00pm) Friday (7:30am - 1pm)

Overview:
With manufacturing facilities located across the globe, we now require a Buyer to join the procurement team. You will be responsible for planning and purchasing raw materials from a global supply base in support of the site strategy.
- Previous experience working in a buying capacity within an engineering, technical and manufacturing environment or similar
- Must be competent managing suppliers, order and delivery chasing, making sure goods arrive on time, source suppliers for bespoke items when required
- Strong communication and numeracy skills
- Strong computer skills in MS Office. (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Experience of ERP/MRP systems such as Oracle or SAP would be advantageous.
- Excellent presentation, written, and verbal communication skills.

Brief overview of the roles and responsibilities:

- Plans, orders, and expedites material required to meet production demands whilst managing inventory levels.
- Identifies and escalates material constraints whilst taking ownership of short-term resolution and long-term mitigation.
- Actions purchase requests for material via MRP or manual purchase requisitions.
- Develops strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Key contact for supplier invoice queries and delivering resolutions.
- Managing system based MRP and purchasing parameters including price, MOQ, lead time, safety stock etc.
- Supports Engineering Change and NPPD activity with regard to pricing, scheduling & implementation.
- Supports the issue & management of Tenders, Resourcing & Cost Saving Projects.
- Supports logistics partners with customs compliance and HMRC clearances.
- Supports efforts to reduce RAW & WIP inventory
