About the CNC Turner position

Position available: Experienced CNC Turner

Job Duties of a CNC Turner:
CNC turner role purpose: To be involved in programming, setting and operating CNC machines.

You will be involved in machining interesting parts that are small to medium batch quantities.

A CNC Turner will be required to create programs using CNC lathes on Mazak machining centers. Applicant to understand drawings with close tolerances and be experienced in machining different types of materials.

**Responsibilities**:

- Plans machining by studying works orders
- Directly involved in continuous improvement programs and quality control.
- Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
- Maintains continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions.
- Documents actions.
- Exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

**Salary**: From £16.00 depending on experience, knowledge, and qualifications.

Hours of work of a CNC Turner: Monday-Friday 7.30 am
- 4 pm (40 hours) with 2x 15mins paid tea breaks and 30mins unpaid lunch break

**Job Types**: Permanent
Probation: 3 months
Holiday: Holiday 28 days including bank holidays.

Qualification & skills required for this position:
Essential Requirements for a CNC Turner:

- To be able to program, set and operate lathes
- To be able to read drawings and understand critical features
- To be able to find efficient methods of producing parts
- To be able to write, prove and run programs
- To be able to troubleshoot problems
- To be able to inspect parts to Drawings
- To be able to continuously look to improve methods, efficiency and procedures
- To be able to work to high precision machining.
- To be able to work to close tolerances on a variety of materials to engineering drawings.
- Experienced in work holding methods and best practices
- Operating tools to engineering drawings and designs

Non-Essential:

- Preferably someone who has used Hypermill Camware but this is not essential other as systems would be considered i.e. Delcam, Edge Cam, etc.
- To have some experience or training in robotics
- Program Mazak Machines
- Apprentice Trained

Pension: You are automatically enrolled in the government’s pension scheme. This is a legal requirement. You will contribute 5% of your wages, while the company will contribute a further 3%. If you wish to use an existing pension scheme, you may opt out.
