Protective Care Group was established to provide bespoke and tailor-made support for young people with severe, complex needs, particularly those exhibiting challenging behaviour. We specialise in providing a level of support that local authorities are often unable to and are looking for kind, caring and experienced Support Workers to play an integral part in the delivery of this.
To ensure consistency, our shift patterns revolve around rolling 4 shifts on and 4 shifts off. These include a combination of 12-hour day and waking night shifts, of which the day shifts are often followed by sleeping nights, for which you are awarded an enhanced shift allowance.
**Although we advertise our roles in specific areas, you could be placed in a team anywhere in the North East of England. Due to this, you must be comfortable with travelling and working away from home.**
A full UK manual driving license is required for all our Support Workers.
**Requirements**:
- A Level 3 qualification in Child and Residential care (or a suitable alternative)
- A minimum of 12 months employed experience working with vulnerable young people.
- The ability to remain calm and non-judgemental whilst working with behaviours and needs such as absconding, self-harm, sexualised behaviour, attachment disorder, trauma and criminalisation.
- Sound knowledge of safeguarding policies.
- Understanding of CQC and OFSTED regulations and their importance.
- A full UK manual driving license and are happy and comfortable travelling for work.
- A genuine passion for delivering the highest standard of care to vulnerable individuals.
- Full right to work in the UK (we aren’t able to provide sponsorship).
**Benefits**
The ultimate reward for this job is knowing that you’ve made a difference to a young person’s quality of life and future prospects, but our Support Workers also benefit from:
- **Security**:
- PAYE role, so no need to worry about consistency of shifts and pay.
- **Remuneration** - competitive basic salary of £32,000 plus uplifts for each shift you work with a young person and for sleeping nights, paid annual leave, company sick pay, company pension.
- **Investment in you** - training you need to do your role well, including paying for you to complete your NVQ Level 5 in Leadership and Management in Residential Childcare if you do not already have it, progression plan and training to help you get to where you want to be.
- Dedicated wellbeing support from management, internal Wellbeing Specialist and free confidential counselling services
