Flame Hardeners Ltd is a long established (over 75 years old) company specialising in the Flame and Induction Hardening of engineering components and occupying a well respected position in providing a service to many well respected large companies together with smaller specialist companies in a very wide range of industries. We have a small very friendly team of 12 employees, of which 50% have worked here more than 30 years.

Our Maintenance Fitter is now past retirement age and is to be redeployed on different duties. We are therefore seeking a competent Maintenance Fitter to replace him and undertake routine planned maintenance and repair work within a small company

Typical examples are removal and replacement of bearings in gearboxes, replacement of couplings, maintenance of pumps. Maintenance of compressed air pipe work systems and water pipe work systems.

**Experience required**

Previous experience will have included some machining work in the repair and alteration of mechanical equipment parts in industrial machinery. The necessary skills are basic ability in turning, milling, drilling and welding involved in making of simple replacement parts.
The position would ideally suit a mature old-fashioned fitter seeking a position where initiative would be appreciated and age is not a barrier.

**Hours**:
Monday to Thursday 7.30am - 4pm

Friday 7.30am - 3pm

**Holidays**:
25 days annual + 8 days statutory

Annual holidays 5 to 8 days are fixed per year depending on dates of Statutory Christmas Holidays the remaining 18/20 days can be taken any time by agreement with the management

**Pay**:
Starting pay up to £12 per hour reviewable after six months employment

Time & Attendance Bonus effective after 4 weeks of continuous employment

Location: Central Sheffield
