**ABOUT THE ROLE**
As Head of Technical you will report into the Divisional Technical Controller, you will have full responsibility of the Quality, Technical and Hygiene teams on site to drive and champion the sites technical strategy. You will ensure the teams are correctly skilled to be successful in ensuring product quality and adherence to the customer specifications. You will lead the technical function for the site ensuring legislative compliance to food safety is met, making sure procedures are in place to manage food hygiene, safety and quality systems e.g. HACCP, GMP. Making sure technical activities on site are robustly structured and managed to comply with relevant industry standards and all associated retailer codes of practice.
You will engage directly with our customers including Aldi, Asda, Co-Op, M&S and Morrisons, establishing clear and timely communication, making decisions based on sound evidence/judgment and maintaining a positive attitude to get all issues resolved. You will also engage directly with the regulators.

- An experienced Technical Manager or Head of Technical with a background in a food manufacturing environment (Meat/Poultry essential)
- Customer focussed and commercially aware
- The scope to influence at all levels
- Demonstrate Project Management, Use of digital systems and Man-management experience
- Food Science degree (desirable)
- Food safety and hygiene qualifications
- Experience of working with Major retailers.
