Polegate, United Kingdom Kent Community Health NHS Foundation Trust Full time

Are you a dynamic and caring speech and language therapist ready to start your new career or looking to broaden your experience in paediatrics?

Our service includes Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Speech and Language Therapists and Therapy Assistants. We currently offer a hybrid work pattern with a combination of face to face and virtual working; we will work with you to minimise travel for face to face work.

We work across three countywide teams with a single point of access. The three teams are:

- Specialist facilities/ schools team (ASD/ SEMH)
- Neighbourhood team (early years, mainstream schools and colleges)
- Integrated care team (special schools, adaptations and continuing care)

We have three Band 5 jobs available across these teams. We will provide you with the support and supervision you need to flourish as a speech and language therapist.

Tell us where your career passion lies and we will enable you to gain the experience. If you want to experience a bit of everything paediatric we can do that too

Balance of the jobs differ a little across the teams but all include:

- Formal and informal assessment including education health and care needs assessments
- Planning and implementing therapy interventions for children in a range of settings including therapy provision in education health and care plans
- Preparing programmes and giving clinical support to our valued team of therapy assistants
- Link therapist, working closely with schools/facilities to enable them to deliver effective targeted therapy including opportunities to provide training
- Strong internal relationships with your therapy team colleagues to facilitate integrated working
- Close partnership working with our children and families, Local Authority and Health colleagues to support multi-agency models of service delivery
- Completion of service clinical competencies and RCSLT preceptorship objectives and a commitment to developing knowledge and skills across overlapping areas of practice e.g. sensory needs

We have a passion for delivering high standards of care to patients who are recovering from illness, in need of rehabilitation, or extra support to get them home. We are one of the largest community NHS trusts in the UK, and we are rated ‘outstanding’ by the CQC.

To deliver excellent local services and improve the health of our communities we need outstanding people who share our values (CARE):

- Compassionate
- Aspirational
- Responsive
- Excellent
