**Level 3 Early Years Practitioner.**Between 30 and35 hours per week available. Could be split as a part time position between two people.

We are looking for an Early Years practitioner, who is passionate about working with young children, to join our friendly team. This position offers a fantastic opportunity to work in a small independent pre-school set in a quiet rural location. Ideally, we have between 30 and 35 hours a week available during school terms, but a part time position might be considered. We also have a holiday club that offers further employment opportunities during Wiltshire holiday periods.

Being a pre-school that has high expectations of staff, we believe that children learn more when they are happy and secure. We are therefore looking for someone who will provide hands-on experience and play opportunities that will enable progress in their learning journey. We want staff who will inspire the children and offer them the very best care and education.

**Setting Type**: An independent pre-school registered with the Charity Commission taking children from 2 to 4 years.

**Hours**: Term time pre-school with a Holiday Club. Flexible term time hours between 7.45am to 6pm Monday to Thursday and 7.45am to 3pm Friday. Additional hours available during the holiday periods.

**Contract**: 30 to 35 hours term time only, plus some holiday club hours. Would consider applicants offering a part-time position of approx. 20 hours.

**Salary**: Between£12.90 and £13.15 an hour

**Qualification**: Level 3 Early Years qualification as a minimum. Might consider a Level 2 qualification.

**Schedule**: Four days a week if 35 hours or minimum of three days a week if less.

**Earliest start date**: Monday 17th March 2025

**Latest start date**: Tuesday 22nd April 2025

**Person specification**: Essential criteria:
1. Willingness to learn and to improve.

2. An Early Years’ Education and Childcare qualification or equivalent at Level 3 or above preferred.

3. Ability to supervise children effectively.

4. Proven experience of working in a pre-school/nursery setting as well as in a team.

5. Ability to communicate effectively to a wide variety of people including parents, the Management Committee, Ofsted inspectors, staff and children - verbally and in writing.

6. Be able to use any information from the child’s initial entry profile that may be a positive tool to help the child settle and help them progress while at the pre-school.

7. Sound understanding of child development and of children’s needs.

8. To have knowledge of the Early Years curriculum (EYFS), including the SEND Code of Practice.

9. To be qualified in Safeguarding and Child Protection procedures.

10. Knowledge of current legislation relevant to the Early Years.

**Professional Development**:
1. To attend relevant courses, INSET and training days to develop experience and to broaden expertise.

2. To participate in the pre-school's staff appraisal process.

3. Regularly update any qualifications as needed e.g. Paediatric First Aid
