Dt Technician

Destination Education is working with an "Outstanding" Secondary School located in Ilford who are looking for a DT Technician on a full time basis to start as soon as possible. They are a Coeducational Secondary School and sixth form located in the LondonBorough of Redbridge, with approximately 1300 pupils and 93 teachers.The ideal DT Technician will provide technical support to the relevant departments, by the preparation of tools, equipment and materials for lessons.The role will be to start as soonas possible on a full time basis following a successful fully paid trial day. Responsibilities of a DT Technician - Prepare materials and equipment for practical lessons - Monitor and maintain equipment and stock within the DT department to ensure all pupils are able to access a wide range of materials - Carry out weekly material/equipment checks and liaise with the head of department in the ordering of materials and equipment - Demonstrate machinery use to students and offer any technical support during lesson time - Perform health and safety checks on all equipment Ideal DT Technician - Hold a relevant qualification in Technology or Design or have previous work experience as a DT Technician - Familiar with using and maintaining machinery/equipment such as drills, saws, hand tools etc - Knowledge of Health and Safety procedures - Ability to work closely with staff and students, building positive relationships - Experience working with children/young people If you are interested in this DT Technician vacancy and you are available immediately, please send your CV through to Jennifer at Destination Education to be considered
