Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Animal Care Assistant to join our team. As an Animal Care Assistant, you will be responsible for providing quality care and support to the animals in our facility. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a difference in the lives of animals and contribute to their overall well-being.

**Duties**:

- Assist with daily care tasks such as feeding, watering, and grooming animals
- Clean and maintain animal enclosures, ensuring they are safe and sanitary
- Monitor animal behavior and report any changes or concerns to the appropriate staff
- Administer medications or treatments as directed by veterinary staff
- Assist with animal handling and restraint during procedures or examinations
- Provide exercise and enrichment activities for animals to promote their physical and mental well-being
- Assist with the intake and adoption process, including conducting interviews and completing necessary paperwork
- Educate visitors about responsible pet ownership and provide information on available services

**Skills**:

- Passion for working with animals and promoting their welfare
- Ability to handle animals with care, patience, and compassion
- Excellent observation skills to detect any signs of illness or distress in animals
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with team members, visitors, and potential adopters
- Basic knowledge of animal behavior, nutrition, and health care practices
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently as well as part of a team
- Physical stamina to perform tasks that may require lifting or carrying heavy objects

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time

**Salary**: £8.21-£11.75 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
