An exciting opportunity has become available for a Materials Technician apprentice to join our team at Newbold Quarry, Burton on Trent, completing a Level 3 Laboratory Technician apprenticeship. **The Package**

- Starting salary of £17,000 for the 1st year, increasing to £19,500 for the 2nd year
- 40 hours per week
- Monday to Friday (07:00- 16:00)
- 25 days annual leave plus Bank holidays

By joining Aggregate Industries, you’ll become part of a dynamic working environment. As a Materials Technician apprentice, you’ll be working in a laboratory but not as you know it Be prepared to get mucky as you get to know your materials. This won’t bea sterile environment and requires someone who’s not afraid to get stuck in.

Within this role, you'll be expected to support the company in achieving its goals in:

- Product Conformity - Managing the undertaking of a sampling & testing service that provides data and analysis for the efficient production of compliant, fit for purpose products at the optimum manufactured cost, such as product sampling and testing, mixoptimisation, mix design maintenance
- Sales Support - Delivering technical information, advice and support to operational, commercial staff and customers in pursuit of quality and sales targets and customer loyalty
- Performance Management: Monitoring, measuring, managing and reporting on product quality KPI’s, system performance optimisation, safety, welfare and development of our staff

If you are a passionate learner, you can continue your apprenticeship journey by completing Level 4/5 Technician Scientist apprenticeship. You can also choose to remain within the technical sector and progress to a Senior Technician role or you might wish toexplore different areas of the business.

**Experience**

Whilst previous experience is great, we at Tiro are always open to wildcards. We’re not just interested in experience and qualifications; we’re looking for someone with the right attitude and aptitude to fit right in at Aggregate Industries.

It’s about enthusiasm, not school results. In our experience the most successful apprentices are those who have drive to find out more about the sector, can be up front about what they do and don’t already know, are considerate, self-reflective, and impatientto learn the job role

- **So how does the apprenticeship work?**_

At Tiro we’re obsessed with changing lives through science and technology apprenticeships so we can’t wait to have you on board. You’ll be trained by an expert tutor from Tiro as well as an experienced mentor at Aggregate Industries who together, will makesure you develop the knowledge, skills, and work habits you’ll need to succeed in your career.
Over 21 months, you’ll devote a minimum of 6 hours of your working week on 'off the job’ training. This can include theory training (for example, virtual lessons & online learning), alongside practical training (for example shadowing, mentoring, & time spentwriting assignments.) Together this will count towards a Level 3 Laboratory Technician Apprenticeship.
