Would you like to feel more rewarded at work? Would you like to be part of a team that provides support and respite to people during a mental health crisis, as an alternative to a psychiatric hospital admission, or to facilitate early discharge from inpatient units? We are looking for an enthusiastic, proactive and reliable Band 5 mental health professional (nurse, social worker or occupational therapist) to join our team in the Acute Therapy Service (ATS) based at ATS, Preston.
Our ATS service was developed in 2015 based on principles of Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) and provides high quality and award-winning care. The successful post holder will have experience of working in Mental Health Services and will hold the relevant professional qualifications as shown on the Person Specification. As this is a DBT led service the post holder will need to support the team to ensure that the service is model adherent. The duties will include supporting service users to implement coping strategies learned in the ATS service. You will also deliver groups, assess risk and provide structured psychological interventions for individuals attending the service.
You will receive regular management and clinical supervision, with opportunities to develop clinical and professional practice to enable you to deliver DBT informed approaches in line with service user needs and organisational values.
Lancashire & South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust provides a range of services including secondary mental health care across this area. Specialist provision comprises inpatient child and adolescent mental health services, perinatal mental health and forensic services including low and medium secure care.
The Trust also provides a range of physical health and well-being services in the community alongside a range of partners in the Lancashire, Cumbria and Sefton area.
