We are recruiting for a law graduate to work in our Family Department. A law degree is essential. All other training will be provided.
- To undertake matters which you are competent to conduct having due regard to the policies and procedures defined in the Quality Manual relating to your areas of work.
- Arranging appointments and attending new, current and former clients and dealing with their queries including:
- Obtaining instructions and advising on course(s) of action, length and cost of case (as appropriate)
- Assessment of client’s financial means and explanation of Private terms and conditions
- Drafting and/or dictating correspondence to client, court, solicitors counsel and other third-parties, including Statements, Notices, Applications, and other Legal Forms/Documents for production/preparation by Secretary
- Arranging meetings and conferences
- Negotiation on clients behalf to obtain most preferable outcome for clients
- Ensuring efficient day-to-day progress of all matters, prioritising work as necessary and keeping the client informed on progress
- Management of support services for which (s)he is responsible, including supervision of support staff
- Participation in marketing activities whether on a firm wide, departmental or office basis
- Financial control with particular regard to cash flow control through collection of monies on account and billing procedures
- To ensure that all work carried out meets or exceeds the requirements of the Lexcel/CQS Standard and the Solicitors’ Code of Conduct.
- To record all work carried out accurately and appropriately on the firm’s time recording system where relevant.
**Salary**: £21,000.00 per year

- Lowestoft, NR32 1HF: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
