Welding Inspector

We have a new and exciting opportunity for a Welding Inspector to join us on this exciting journey.

Your role as a Welding Inspector will be integral to the success of this ambitious venture.

As a Welding inspector, you’ll maintain the welding register to ensure all records are up-to-date, complete and verify all NDT requests and reports along with assisting the Material Controller with inspections of welded secondary steel products.

You’ll review, approve and pass records ensuring all cans are marked for traceability during fabrication along with reporting welding defects and agree on report methods with the Production and Quality departments.

**Qualifications and Skills**:

- Time-served welder or fabricator, or a professional qualification from an awarding body such as C&G or NVQ.
- CSWIP 3.1 or similar certification for welding inspection.
- Detailed understanding of inspection and test plans.
- Mobile Elevating Work Platform (MEWP) operator certification.
- Meticulous with records and reports.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Experience with welding logs and welding traceability.

**Pay rates**:

- £21.50 per hour on days plus a 'commissioning allowance' of 12.5% of the hourly rate during the commissioning phase.
- Initially Mon-Friday 40 hours per week on days *until the commissioning phase is complete.
- OT1 Rate of a third of hourly rate for overtime on weekdays.
- OT2 Rate of time and a half of hourly rate for Saturday overtime.
- OT3 Rate of double time of hourly rate for Sunday overtime.

During the commissioning phase, you will work day shift Monday-Friday and an additional 'commissioning allowance' of 12.5% of the hourly rate will be provided during this period. Once the commissioning phase has been completed, we will operate a number of different shift patterns in which you will be expected to work along with a competitive shift allowance.
