Catering Supervisor

My client is renown as one of the most prestigious schools globally. They are seeking a Catering Supervisor to come and join their busy team. This is a term time position but will include evenings and weekends.

Salary £26000

Based in London

Shifts: 40 hour week working 5 out of 7 days on a 3 week rota. Term time: 36 weeks per year.

The Role
- To supervise all aspects of one of the hospitality rooms; overseeing all internal events
- Ensuring all catering requirements of external events are delivered
- Adhering to all catering standards across the whole catering team
- Organise staff training and make sure staff are motivated
- Oversee events, liaising closely with customers and Catering team colleagues
- Assist with the day-to-day management of the functions diary
- Organise workload to balance conflicting priorities and ensure that all deadlines are met
- Assist with catering requests received via the School booking service and deal proactively with requests and queries in order to provide a responsive and professional service
- Assist in all catering areas as required
- Ensure that all events are set up and serviced correctly
- Assist the Hospitality Manager with comprehensive function sheets for each event and proactively keep Catering team colleagues up to date with any changes Ensure that all post-event charging information is entered on the function sheets

The Person
- Previous experience of working in a education setting or as a Catering Supervisor within a busy environment
- Able to deal with customer complaints in a calm manner
- Organisational skills with the ability to plan, prioritise, multi-task and work quickly and efficiently, ensuring deadlines are met irrespective of conflicting priorities
- Excellent writing ability with a good command of grammar and punctuation
- Ability to establish strong working relationships with colleagues from different functions and of diverse backgrounds
- Diplomatic, with the ability to deal with confidential matters discreetly
- Good interpersonal and communication skills with ability to deal with enquiries from teachers
- Meticulous attention to detail and a high standard of personal presentation
- Ability to work calmly whilst under pressure
