We have an exciting opportunity for a Support Worker to join our inspiring and friendly team at our Service in Salisbury.

Your role will be a fixed based position working from our Wilton Road service in Salisbury. You will work full time 35 hours per week on a permanent contract with a salary of £18,090.60 to £19,860.93 per annum (with additional payments for any sleep ins and unsociable or bank holidays worked). The service will happily accept part time applicants equally.

Our Wilton Road service provides outcome focused support in a welcoming, safe, non-judgemental environment which is conducive to the personal growth and wellbeing of our residents. Our holistic way of working considers all aspects of resident’s lives, rather than focusing solely on their diagnosis. We work collaboratively with agencies and services in the community and involve the resident in a recovery model approach. This involves the use of regularly reviewed support plans tailored to personal needs and wishes.

How will you make a difference?

Promoting independence and empowerment at all times in order for individuals to recover from mental illness and lead, full satisfying lives.

Provide key worker support to individuals living with mental illness, including one to one or group support, liaising with other mental health agencies, with and on behalf of people who use our services

Enable individuals to self-manage their resources and to undertake activities of daily living

Develop a rapport based on respect and honesty, working within clear professional boundaries and the Rethink Mental Illness Code of Conduct

Enable and encouraging individuals to find out about local services and facilities within their community and facilitate access to alternative services where specific needs are identified

Be familiar with individuals Care/Recovery Plans and support people who use our services in achieving their goals

Carry out all needs assessments, individual safety, and support planning

Work with individuals to proactively develop, review, monitor, and adapt support and safety plans

Liaise with other external agencies, complimentary therapies, and community groups on behalf of people who use our services

**Who I am?Desirable but not essential**:
Experience of providing support to people with a mental illness; or experience of providing care and/or support services within another social care setting in either a paid or voluntary capacity.

Knowledge and understanding of recovery principles and embedding the ethos of recovery into your own practice.

The ability to proactively make a comprehensive assessment of an individual’s situation and needs; to develop, implement and review risk management plans and devise support plans to meet these needs.

Work independently and as part of a team with a commitment and belief that your work makes a difference
