**About the role**:
The **Grants and Impact Officer** is a new hybrid role within the Trust’s Grants Team. Using practical experience from the field of impact measurement and reporting, the **Grants and Impact Officer** will lead on the development and delivery of the Trust’s approach to measuring and evaluating its impact, enabling the Trust to better understand and communicate the value of its work.

**Key responsibilities**:
**Impact Officer**
- Guiding the Trust’s approach to measuring and evaluating its impact, enabling the Trust to better understand and communicate the value of its work.
- Taking the lead role for ongoing collation of quantitative and qualitative evidence and the production of an annual Impact Report.
- Working alongside Communications and Marketing colleagues to identify/create appropriate content to illustrate the Trust’s impact to a range of audiences.

**Grants Officer**
- Presenting grant recommendations at Grants Committee and monthly small grants meetings, responding to Trustees’ questions and seeking clarification on their behalf as appropriate.
- Monitoring a caseload of multi-year grants, including reviewing progress reports and payment requests, meeting with beneficiaries to assess progress and supporting the impact reporting process.
- Representing the Trust to beneficiaries, fostering relationships with key personnel across Christian denominations, within the heritage sector and in other charities.
- Attending and presenting at national and local forums, such as Archdeacons’ Forums and the national Churches Together in England Forum.
- Servicing Committees of the Board, preparing agendas and board papers and ensuring the implementation of management actions.
- Maximising the effectiveness of IT systems, tools and processes to support grant operations and ensure ease of use for applicants.
- Identifying and feeding content to the Communications team, taking part in PR activity and approving regular additional content for the Trust’s social media channels and blog pages.
- Contributing to wider Trust activity, including working with colleagues within EIO and other key stakeholders.
- Acting as an ambassador for the Trust.

**Knowledge, skills and experience**
***:

- Demonstrable experience of developing and implementing frameworks and methodologies for impact measurement and reporting, preferable in a grant-making context
- Grant giving experience
- Ability to manage financial information and interpret charity accounts
- Effective communication skills
- Experience of relationship management
- Ability to effectively manage multiple projects
- Experience of Microsoft packages and bespoke databases
- Strong understanding of Social Media and its influence
- Good understanding of the environment that small and local charities are operating in
- Proven administrative ability with attention to detail
- Sympathy with the Trust Christian ethos and values
