Roofing Assistant

**About the Role**

The Roofing Assistant will support our qualified roofers in the delivery of roofing projects by ensuring tools and materials are readily available, maintaining a clean and safe worksite, and assisting with tasks to ensure efficient project completion. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to gain hands-on experience in the roofing trade and develop their skills within a professional property maintenance company. A willingness to learn and grow under the guidance of experienced roofing professionals is essential.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Provide general labouring support to roofers on-site.
- Safely load and unload materials, tools, and equipment.
- Assist with the setup and dismantling of ladders, scaffolding, and roof access systems in accordance with safety guidelines.
- Support the removal of old roofing materials and help prepare surfaces for new installations.
- Carry out basic tasks such as cutting tiles, fitting underlays, and sealing areas as directed.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment always.
- Transport tools and materials to and from job sites as required.
- Adhere strictly to health and safety procedures and site protocols.
- Assist with site clearance and clean-up upon completion of works.
- Report to the Roofing Team Leader and follow instructions accurately and professionally.

**Skills & Experience**

**Essential**:

- Must be aged 21 or over (due to company vehicle insurance requirements).
- Possess a full UK driving licence and be confident driving company vans.
- Reliable, hardworking, and demonstrates a positive, proactive attitude.
- Willing to learn and take direction from experienced tradespeople.
- Strong work ethic with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Use PPE appropriately
- Be aware of and help manage risks associated with working at height and manual handling.
- The ability to lift heavy materials and work in various weather conditions.

**Desirable**:

- Previous experience in construction or roofing
- CSCS card or other relevant site qualifications
- Knowledge of basic hand tools and power tools
