We are looking for a part time weekend Barista and café assistant to join us at The Toast Room.

**Previous Barista experience is essential-you must be confident steaming milk and dosing/setting grinder-ideally 1 year experience**

**Previous waiting experience would definitely be an added advantage**

We are Kate and John Cassettari, we both run The Toast Room, a small independent café on East Street. We serve locally roasted speciality Extract coffee, loose leaf teas and fresh food cooked to order; light bites on toast, homemade salads and our famous sourdough toasties made from scratch using fresh local ingredients in a relaxed, Formica and plant-filled space.

The café consists of one large room so it is extremely important to us to always create a welcoming ‘at home’ environment for all of our customers.

Therefore an ideal person for the position would be someone who is enthusiastic, calm under pressure and genuinely takes an interest when interacting and chatting with people as we have a lot of regular custom

We pride ourselves on offering great customer service with a genuine personal touch; we are looking for someone keen, friendly and passionate about coffee who really enjoys serving and making it We work with Extract-local artisan coffee roasters and will be offering a visit at their Roastery once in the position.

The role will be making and serving excellent coffee, along with aiding in the day-to-day running of the café which would include using the till, serving and clearing tables, looking after customers, putting crockery through the dishwasher, some food prep and sometimes assisting the chef during busy periods-There aren’t many of us, so we all pitch in with the jobs The role will be customer facing and so we are looking for someone who thrives when interacting with customers in a small, bustling environment, as we can get very busy during weekend service. This position would suit someone who is happy to get involved in all aspects of working in a small, down to earth café.

Approx. 1-2 shifts over the weekend (Friday/Saturday/Sunday) consisting of approx. 5-12 hours a week (shifts are mornings/afternoons only)

We offer staff food during or after every shift (we'd love you to work your way around the menu), as much coffee as you can drink, staff discount and paid breaks.

Part-time hours: 5-12 per week

**Salary**: £9.90 per hour

COVID-19 considerations:
In regards to Covid-19-Though we fazed out most of our measures during May of this year, we still have a screen barrier in front of our till area, we use sanitiser gel after using the till/handling money and still carry out additional cleaning measures.
