**WHAT TO EXPECT DAY TO DAY**

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Cloud Systems Administrator to provide administrative support focusing on the design, specification, integration and implementation on a large-scale end user computing architecture focusing mainly on a Linux based AWS cloud platform as part of a complex distributed network.

You will be working alongside the small, existing team but will be expected to bring additional knowledge and experience to aid the growth and expansion of the company.

This position is based in Lisburn but may require occasional visits to our other sites and offices.

**RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE**
- Planning, installing and configuring high availability AWS cloud systems.
- Planning, designing and creating storage, networking and other system components.
- Planning, designing and implementing high availability solutions with backups / disaster recovery for each system.
- Implementing and maintaining monitoring systems.
- Software installation and patching.
- Implementing performance tuning systems based on monitoring.
- Securing systems, networks and individual computers based on requirements and ISO27001 standards.
- Planning, implementing and controlling user and account security rights and restrictions, password and identity management.
- Translate strategic vision into technology initiatives.
- Evaluate new technologies for inclusion into the environment and the technology roadmap.
- Identification of IT improvement areas to reduce complexity and improve maintainability.
- Alignment of technology with business goals.
- Work with stakeholders to identify enterprise level solutions.
- Develop policies, standards and guidelines that direct the selection, development, implementation and use of Information Technology systems within the company.
- Implement Cyber Security best practices.
- Implement AWS well architected framework compatible solutions.
- Define, implement and maintain an enterprise-wide Linux fleet management system.
- Perform advanced systems support, maintenance, and testing for proper upkeep of systems, troubleshoot and resolves complex system virtual hardware, software, and network failures and conflicts.
- Participate in research and development initiatives and aid in the implementation of new technologies.
- Securing systems, networks and individual computers based on requirements and ISO27001 standards.
- Participation in the on-call rotation schedule if required.

**WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO SUCCEED**
- Minimum 5 years’ experience working as a Linux administrator or as a cloud architect at an enterprise level.
- Experience of cloud backup solutions for complex multi-system platforms.
- Expertise must include architectural design, development, migration, management and supporting AWS based cloud system.
- Experience developing/implementing a business continuity and disaster recovery plan.
- Proven ability to lead and work on large/complex system deployment projects in a team environment.
- Advanced knowledge of security trends and best practices.
- Ability to review and design system architecture to maximize the efficient use.
- Ability to create business case for deployment of tools to replace outdated tools in existence.
- Ability to review and recommend technical, administrative controls to mitigate risk.
- Experience of and a strong working knowledge of Linux based distributions (primarily Ubuntu, CentOS and Redhat).
- Good understanding of IT infrastructure delivery and software deployment cycles.
- Experience of or a strong working knowledge of Linux fleet management systems such as Ubuntu Landscape or similar.
- Fluent in English, both written and verbal.
- Excellent organisational, interpersonal and presentation skills.
- Ability to provide leadership and direction to stakeholders.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of professionals.
- Ability to communicate technical guidance and instruction to stakeholders.
- Excellent telephone / teleconferencing manner.

**DESIRABLE**
- At least 5 years’ experience as a lead administrator / architect of enterprise-wide Linux based system on a cloud platform.
- RedHat certification.
- AWS architecture certification.
- Experience of containerisation such as OpenShift or Kubernetes strongly desired.
- Experience in cloud technology such as AWS or Azure.
- Working knowledge of Hyper V, VM’s, Hypervisors.
- Knowledge of ISO27001 standards and practices.
- Experience working in an Agile environment.
