Junior Oracle Database Administrator

Role Requirements:

- Manage requests from internal business units and external customers, responding to and providing updates within agreed SLAs
- Maintain and optimise existing customer databases
- Proactive environment and database monitoring
- Create and maintain full technical documentation for all relevant systems
- Liaising with 3rd party vendors and customers to facilitate customer access and VPN requirements
- Establishing requirements and implementing various customer integrations with the platform
- Complete Database / Application performance optimisation
Regarding the person:

- IT Degree qualified (Computer Science, Software Development)
- 2+ years technical experience in database administration preferably on the Oracle technology stack
- Strong sql and linux experience would be an advantage
- Eager to learn and keen to deliver excellent service to customers and internal business units
- Strong technical and analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot and solve complex problems
- A strong team player with an ability to also work on their own initiative
- Self-starter with an ability to work to deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Understanding of TCP/IP networking and VPN configuration
- Understanding of Oracle Database and Middleware technologies (12c)
- Experience in operating systems:

- Red Hat Enterprise Linux
- Windows Server
- An ability to prioritize and strong organisational skills are essential
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
